Captains duties

On arrival meet the opposing captain

Place Capel score cards on top of opposition score cards

Write rink number on back of each score card, the opposition will tell you which rink numbers to use.

Fill out the opposing team members on the Capel score sheet and the Capel team members on the opposing score sheet, including the rink number.

On the Results form fill in the names of the opposing team on our copy.

One captain will toss a coin to determine whose Jack it is.

Hand out Capel score cards to Capel Skips and a money bag.

Play the Match

After the match

Using Capel score cards fill in the number of shots for each game and add up the total shots and enter it in the box on the results sheet.

Results are worked out as below

1 point for winning a game, ½ point for a draw.

The team with most points in the total shots box gets 3 points, if it is a draw the points are shared 1½ points each.

Enter the number of points in the result line near the top of the results form.

You then sign the results sheet for Capel and they sign it for the opposition. There will be 2 Results forms ours and theirs (I sign both) .The Home team is responsible for sending the result to the ‘Fixtures & results secretary’ email address at the bottom of the results form.

Collect the money from our Skips.

For a home game the captain is responsible for opening rooms and toilet, selecting rinks, getting the green laid out , filing the urn with water, supplying milk. The captain is also responsible for ensuring the site is secure after the match.
